Adult Day Centers
Sometimes caregivers need a little daytime relief on an ongoing basis. Adult day centers are facilities staffed with caring professionals who understand the needs of chronically and seriously ill individuals. They can dispense medications and are often prepared to help with personal care tasks such as clipping toenails, washing hair, or in some facilities, even bathing. Adult day centers are usually open weekdays, 9:00–5:00. Most provide meals, and many offer a van pickup and drop-off service.
