About Us: Knox Care Management
Knox Care Management Services is a geriatric care management practice serving Knoxville-Knox County TN, and the surrounding counties of Anderson, Blount, Loudon and Sevier. KCMS's mission is to maintain the well being, independence and dignity of older family members while being sensitive to the family’s needs and resources.

Nancy Tillery Walker, Care Management Services, BA, CMC

Nancy Walker is the owner and operator of Knox Care Management. Ms. Walker had worked over 30 years in the public sector as a care manager and care manager supervisor. After 16 years as program manager at the local office on aging, she decided to open a Care Management practice where she would be free of imposed restrictions and would be able to offer comprehensive geriatric care management services to elderly or disabled persons and their family.
Ms. Walker has a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology and studied gerontology at the University of Tennessee.
Ms. Walker is a Certified Professional Geriatric Care Manager. She was certified by the National Academy of Certified Care Managers (NACCM) in 1999 and has been recertified every 3 years since that time.
As a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, she is held to the highest ethical standards. Ms. Walker also maintains membership in the Southeast Chapter of Geriatric Care Managers, the National Council on Aging, the National Association of Social Workers, the Case Management Society of America, the Tennessee Conference on Social Welfare and the American Association of Daily Money Managers
Ms. Walker received the Outstanding Tennessean Award from the governor of TN for her contributions in the mental health field as well being chosen Employee of the Year for the State Department of Mental Health.
Ms. Walker is passionate about working with older persons, and she possesses the essential qualities of both patience and compassion that has allowed her to become someone that clients and families can trust and rely upon.
She has an innate ability to relate to her clients in an engaging, heartfelt, and positive manner. She brings out the best in them, while helping them deal with their frustrations and difficulties. She has developed a remarkable network of contacts to help find the ideal solution for each family.

Bari B. Gerbig is a retired health care administrator having worked more than twenty years in long term care as a home health agency director, assisted living director, and licensed nursing home administrator. She has a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University, a Masters Degree from Tulane University in Latin American Studies and Public Health, and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Keuka College.
Ms. Gerbig first became interested in health care when she worked as a health educator with the Peace Corps in Nicaragua. After returning to the United States, she worked as a health planner in Florida and in TN. Years later, as a branch director for a home health agency in Knoxville, she achieved national recognition for outstanding fiscal performance.
Ms. Gerbig is currently trained as a TN Supreme Court listed mediator working as a volunteer with the Community Mediation Center. She helps resolve conflicts in families, schools, and neighborhoods at the request of individuals and the local courts. She also serves as a volunteer ombudsman to an area nursing home and assisted living center where she regularly visits with residents to help them with their concerns.
Throughout her careers, Ms. Gerbig has shown a real passion to improve the quality of life of all persons, especially the elderly. At Knox Care Management, she enjoys her position as a Community Relations Liaison. As such, she maintains active membership in several community organizations which provide health care, social, and economic services to the senior population.
She is happy to contribute to the community and to share knowledge of available community resources with our clients.
(Return to top)Pamela Hancock Walker, Medical Services Liaison, RN
Pam Walker is a registered nurse with 20 years of health care experience. She graduated from Roane State College of Nursing where she was class president.
Ms. Walker started out working in OR trauma at the University of Tennessee Medical Center – a local teaching hospital. She subsequently worked in multiple inpatient and outpatient settings where she gained significant direct experience in assessing health care needs, developing care plans, and finding the appropriate resources and treatments for her clients.
She communicates with health care providers and relates this information to family members. She understands that poor communication between well-intentioned professionals, and the expectation that patients will remember and relate critical information, can be dangerous and can even lead to life-threatening situations.
Pam is a loving and faithful person, with a heart for the elderly. She is passionate about nursing and helping others, and has been recognized for the contributions she has made in her clinical settings as well as in her community.

Kim Goetze, Wellness Program, BS, MS
Kim Goetze is a mastered degreed special educator with 20 years of experience nurturing and teaching adults and children with special needs. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with honors and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Science degree in Special Education.
Ms. Goetze is a personal trainer and certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She has had 15 years of training special populations. Her programs include functional training for balance (fall prevention), agility, strength, flexibility, Yoga, Pilates and Thai Chi.
Mrs. Goetze is certified through the Arthritis Foundation and the Aquatic Exercise Association. As a trainer, Ms. Goetze began her career teaching senior and youth exercise classes for the YMCA and Court South. Several participants asked for personalized instruction which led her to study corrective exercises and functional personal training. As an educator, Ms. Goetze began her career working with adolescents in the diagnostic and evaluation program at Peninsula Hospital. She taught science and social studies and implemented treatment plans for each student. Subsequently she has performed similar duties for Child and Family Services and Knox County Schools.
Ms. Goetze experience includes the implementation of physical therapy prescriptions and designs individual programs that meet the specific physiological needs of her clients. She goes above and beyond the call of duty to assist her clients in achieving results in all areas of wellness. She strives to insure that families and clients alike are totally satisfied with her services. Above all she loves her clients and cherishes the friendships she has made over the years.
Ms. Goetze loves helping people from all walks of life and has a proven record of trustworthiness and dependability.
